After Quick Sellout, Baltimore Whisky to Release 2d Batch, Move

Baltimore Whiskey Co.’s first Rye whiskey sold out in less than an hour on St. Patrick’s Day.  A second small batch of about 600 bottles of the $39.99, 100-proof Epoch Rye whiskey will be released Saturday.

Soon after, the company will move to Union Collective in Baltimore’s Medfield neighborhood.  It’s currently distilling in the Remington neighborhood.

Epoch Rye’s mix of grains contains roughly 70% rye grain and 30% rye malt.

“We use a very high malt content, and it’s malted rye — not malted barley,” Lents said. “It’s a very unique flavor profile for that grain, and not many people use it.”
