Will the Dems Take Advantage of Trump’s Stunning Admission?

President Trump can justly point with pride to several accomplishments during his tenure as President:  Unemployment reached a record law for Blacks, Asians, Hispanics and whites.  The military was rearmed, after years of neglects under the Bush/Obama administration.

All that may be undone by his stunning admission to Bob Woodward:  He know Covid-19 was deadly and worse than the flu, he intentionally misled Americans about its severity.  ON March 19, Trump admitted to Woodward he “wanted to always play it down because I don’t want to create a panic.”

He complained about “not feeling any love” from Black Americans on July 8, but on June 19 he said he didn’t feel he had a responsibility to better understand the “anger and pain” felt by Black Americans.  But he also acknowledged in another interview that racism “is here” in the U.S. in a way that affects people’s lives.  “I think it is. And it’s unfortunate. But I think it is.”

The details appear in a new book, Rage, that also reveals Trump disclosed to Woodward the existence of a top secret new atomic weapons system.

Comment:  We’ve said before that we think Trump will be voted out of office in November.  We think Woodward’s book, Rage, is just one more nail in the coffin.  It’s probably too late for Trump to resign and Republicans to appoint a new candidate, but that would be best for the Republican Party.
