By rolling a mouse over the map, one can locate all of Europe’s 240 geographical indicated spirits. The idea, the trade group said, is to show the “great diversity, rich cultural heritage and economic importance of the products for communities all across Europe.”
According to a study by the European Commission in April, spirits with geographical indications sell for more than 2-1/2 times products without GIs.
