Old Forester Takes Leading Role in Hollywood Flick

Old Forester Statesman (Brown-Forman) will have a significant role in a new movie, “Kingsman: The Golden Circle.”  Old Forester Statesman was created in collaboration with director Matthew Vaughn and Twentieth Century Fox and has a significant role in the movie. The Statesman, the American version of the Kingsman, operate as bourbon distillers in Louisville, Ky., to disguise their spy organization.

The first installment, “Kingsman: The Secret Service,” introduced the world to a secret spy organization saving the world behind a tailor shop. After their headquarters are destroyed, we are introduced to a new type of Kingsman. The American-based cousin operation called Statesman: a motley crew of lasso-wielding, cowboy boot-wearing bourbon distillers in Louisville, Kentucky, the heart of bourbon country. The star-studded cast includes Colin Firth, Taron Egerton Mark Strong, Jeff Bridges, Channing Tatum, Pedro Pascal, Halle Berry and Julianne Moore.

Old Forester and Campbell Brown, President of Brown-Forman, played a significant role behind and in front of the camera by providing consultation to create an authentic portrayal of bourbon distilling. The rustic and bold characters of the film inspired the bourbon, which is distilled at a smooth 95 proof with a bold and spicy finish.

The collaboration between Old Forester and Matthew Vaughn elevates the way consumer product integration can influence and inspire a film narrative to create an enriched experience for audiences inside and outside the theater. Just as tailoring is a British tradition, bourbon distilling serves as a distinctly American craft for the Statesman.
