New Bill Could Increase Spirits Outlets in Washington State

When Washington State voters chose to replace state stores with private retailers, they restricted spirits sales to stores with more than 10,000 square feet. That tended to benefit Costco and Walmart.

But a bill making its way through the Washington State legislature could change that.  It would allow anyone who has had a beer and wine license for three years, and who has had no public safety violations, to apply for a license to sell spirits.
