Grupo Modelo halted production, complying with the Mexican government’s order for nonessential businesses to close. The Anheuser-Busch InBev unit makes and sells Corona, Modelo and Pacifico beers everywhere by in the U.S.

Constellation Brands, which has the right to produce the brands for sale in the U.S. says it has “ample supply to meet consumer demand.”

Mexican tequila makers say they don’t plan to halt work, arguing that they have to finish planting all the agave for the 2020 cycle by May.  Halting work “would cause irreversible damage,” according to the president of the Mexican tequila chamber.
