Detroit Brewery Opens Rooftop Biergarden

The biergarten is above Atwater Brewing’s century old brew house at 237 Joseph Campau.  Grand Opening is Thursday, May 18, beginning at 6:00 pm.

The new rooftop will feature rotating taps offering a selection of Atwater beers with special emphasis on Atwater’s “Dirty Blonde” and “Whango Mango Wheat,” plus the brewer’s wines and spirits.  The open-air rooftop has biergarten-style seating plus a long bar railing where guests can sit to enjoy beautiful views of the Detroit River and the historic Rivertown district.

The Atwater Detroit Tap House and rooftop will join the brewer’s award-winning ‘Atwater In the Park’ location in Grosse Pointe Park and Atwater Grand Rapids in offering outdoor biergarden seating.

“We’ve always said we want to take Detroit everywhere and we’re delivering on the promise,” said Atwater owner Mark Rieth.  “With our new rooftop biergarten, our guests can just take it upstairs and enjoy the incredible ambiance and views of our exciting and fast changing city and the river while enjoying some of Atwater’s hometown refreshments.”

Atwater has more than doubled its brewing capacity in the two past years has also expanded its distribution and now sells its beers in more than 30 states and Canada.
