Monarch Beverage Co., Indiana’s largest beer distributor, officially notified state officials it will lay off 76 workers as a result of the closure of its Wine Division.
The decision to close the Wine Division came after E&J Gallo Winery pulled its line after Monarch wasn’t able to convince state officials to license a wine and spirits distributorship with common ownership between Monarch and an affiliated trucking company.
