Wyoming House Spikes Liquor Tax Hike

The bill would have increased the liquor tax to 20.6% from 17.6%.  It was rejected, 38-22.

It had been pitched as a way to cover the cost of delivery and processing, but would have raised less than $3 million a year.

During debate, lawmakers saw it for what it was:  a roundabout way of passing a tax increase.
