Fifty-four children of wine and spirits wholesalers will each receive a $2,000 scholarship to help fund their college expenses. The scholarships are awarded by WSWA Educational Foundation, the charitable arm of Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America.
“We received applications for this year’s scholarship from all 50 states representing an exceptional cross section of students,” said Michelle Korsmo, President and CEO of WSWA. “Those that were selected represent the next generation of truly gifted Americans who will continue to make a tangible and positive impact on their communities, and the country,” she added.
Each student will receive a $2,000 award toward their studies. Eligible applicants are required to be a dependent of a full-time distributor employee working for a WSWA member company. Beneficiaries were selected by an independent panel through a competitive application process.
“The WSWA Educational Foundation College Scholarship Program honors the hardworking men and women of our member companies, from fork lift drivers to executive leadership,” said Sydney Ross, WSWA Chairman and co-CEO of Great Lakes Wine and Spirits in Highland Park, Mich.
