Trump’s Tariffs Exempt Wine Above 14% Alcohol, So Bordeaux May Go Higher

Wines below 14% face a 25% tariff, and after adding other taxes retail prices could go up around 30%, meaning a $20 bottle of wine might cost $26.

But by leaving the grapes on the vine another week or so, the alcohol content goes up and the tariff is avoided.
