Survey Finds Americans Not Ready to Reopen

Only 43% of Americans are comfortable returning to dine-in restaurants, only 27% of frequent fliers are ready to fly, and only 26% are willing to return to bars.

Those are the sobering findings of a survey for Fortune by SurveyMonkey.  They also help explain why, as The Wall Street Journal noted last week, some restaurants are calling it quits.  Indeed, as many as 10% of independent operators could close by Dec. 31, victims of the new coronavirus.

The survey also finds mask wearing is up.  Some 67% say they wear masks in public, up from 54% in May.
