Skurnik Wines & Spirits, New York, has become the exclusive national importer for the Swartland-based Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines of South Africa.
Chris and Andrea Mullineux are leaders in South Africa’s wine revolution dating back to their first vintage in 2008. On their farm on Kasteelberg Mountain in the Swartland they produce many wines including their flagship Syrah, a traditional Old Vines White, a select range of single terroir Chenin Blanc and Syrah from the Granite, Schist, Quartz and Iron based soils of the region, as well as an ethereal dessert wine called Straw Wine. All of these wines are under their eponymous Mullineux label. In addition, they recently launched a range of wines from old-vine heritage vineyards in Franschhoek called Leeu Passant.
Andrea Mullineux was named Wine Enthusiast’s Winemaker of the Year in 2016.
