The transaction involves the production facility and tasting room. The Schlatters are keeping the Starmont brand and 40 acres of the Stanly Ranch estate vineyard. Terms weren’t disclosed.
Bernie Orsi said plans for the Starmont winery, which can produce 135,000 cases a year, are still “in the formative stages.” He owns about 300 acres in Sonoma County and sells winegrapes primarily to other vintners. Orsi Family makes about 1,000 cases of varietals a year at Kreck Wines near Healdsburg.
