Gallo to Import Department 66 Wines

  1. E & J. Gallo Winery said it was named exclusive importer for Dave Phinney’s Department 66 wines in the U.S., effective immediately.

Department 66 has its home in the south of France, in the town of Maury, two hours north of Barcelona, Spain. Named after the “department” or administrative division in which the winery lies, the project began with a 40-acre vineyard purchase, and today includes more than 300 acres of vineyards among the Pyrenees-Orientales mountain range. The vineyards consist of thriving old vine Grenache, Syrah, Carignan and Mourvedre.

“We are excited to expand our relationship with Dave Phinney, who has a history of creating bold and memorable brands,” said Roger Nabedian, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Gallo’s Premium Wine Division. He added, “Gallo remains strongly committed to competing in the luxury wine segment, and Department 66 represents an exciting addition to our luxury portfolio.”

Department 66 is the latest addition to a growing Gallo portfolio of premium and luxury wines from around the world. The Department 66 portfolio that Gallo will distribute includes: D66, Others, Fragile, Facade and Pharaon. The wines retail between $18 and $175.
