“We are thrilled to share Sagamore Spirit with more states across the U.S.,” said Brian Treacy, president of the Baltimore spirits producer. “The team has worked hard to develop a product that will put Maryland back on the map as the premier distiller of rye whiskey.”
Sagamore Spirit Straight Rye Whiskey is an American whiskey with a unique mash bill and proofing process. The distilling team blends two different straight rye whiskies – a high rye and a low rye – and then adds Sagamore Farm spring-fed water to create an 83 proof Maryland-style rye whiskey. Sagamore drives this water 22 miles from the limestone spring at Sagamore Farm to its distillery in Port Covington. 100% of Sagamore Rye is cut to proof with this distinct water.
Sagamore Spirit is currently in 28 markets throughout the U.S. with continued expansion planned for 2017 and beyond.
