Software problems at a new Republic National Distributing Co. warehouse in Livonia, Mich., have resulted in bars, restaurants and retailers not receiving product, the Detroit Free Press reported. And the Michigan Liquor Control Commission isn’t happy.
“We are holding RNDC (Republic National Distributing Company) accountable on how they plan to fix this situation for our licenses,” Michigan Liquor Control Commission Chairman Pat Gagliardi said in a statement. “It’s our priority to ensure our licenses have their shelves stocked for the public, especially in advance of the holiday season.”
The beverage manager at one beer hall said she’s been placing liquor orders a few weeks in advance in hopes of reducing the wait time. But, she said, the problem seems to be getting worse, with orders now running four to five days behind.
We asked RNDC for comment, but as of publication time, we hadn’t received a response. When we do, we’ll share it with you.
