Quintessential, in collaboration with Les Vins Georges Duboeuf, has just released an eleven-part series on Beaujolais, hosted by the inimitable Doug Frost. Fellow Masters of Wine and Master Sommeliers will join Frost to discuss the area’s history, terroir, winemaking processes, the ten Crus and the changing public perception of Beaujolais.
“My first experiences of high quality Cru Beaujolais were from Georges Duboeuf,” commented Frost. “And as much as there is great interest now in high quality Beaujolais, I think that many aren’t aware of the character, beauty and, importantly, diversity among Duboeuf’s many offerings. These wines each reflect their origins and bear no resemblance to the popular caricature of simple Beaujolais. These are serious if often quaffable wines.”
