Pernod Ricard Sells Bodega Graffigna to VSPT Wine Group

Shaw-Ross International Importers will be importing Bodega Graffigna‘s wines to the U.S.  following the sale of Graffigna to VSPT Wine Group, the second-largest exporting group for Chilean wine.

Among Graffigna’s assets is a winery in San Juan, Argentina, as well as three estates: two in the San Juan area (200 hectares) and a third in the Uco Valley, Mendoza (100 hectares).

“We are really optimistic with this kick off. We have begun a new stage for our group, as well as for the sustainable growth of our wine business in Argentina. Our ambitions are high and we are faced with great challenges, but we are sure that we can accomplish our goals”, said Pedro Herane, CEO of VSPT Wine Group.

Bodega Graffigna is a renowned Premium wine brand in international markets with a strong heritage and almost 150 years of winemaking history. The winery was founded in 1870 by Italian immigrant Santiago Graffigna, who planted the first vineyard in the San Juan Valley. The brand is now part of the portfolio of Shaw Ross International Importers, who also led sales of Viña San Pedro’s emblematic brands: GatoNegro, 9 Lives Reserve, 1865 and Cabo de Hornos in the market.

In addition, VSPT Wine Group has begun to make concrete, long-term steps in Argentina with the purchase of two highly recognized brands in the local market: Colon and Santa Silvia. This will allow them to become one of the ten most-important players in the country.
