Penna. Bill Makes It Easier to Buy Liquor

The Distilled Spirits Council said it is pleased by the measure which allows beer distributors and grocery stores to acquire permits to sell liquor. Adding 900 spirits outlets in the state would add $100 million in revenue to the state Treasury, the Council said.

Pennsylvania is currently “extremely underserved,” as compared to other states, with a current rate of 0.67 spirits outlets per 10,000 residents. The national average is 3.80 per 10,000.
