Molson Coors Donates $1 Million to Thurgood Marshall College Fund

Molson Coors said it donated $1 million to the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) to fund its leadership development and education programs over the next three years.

The funding will support programs focused on providing educational resources, leadership development and career opportunities for students attending HBCUs. These programs include TMCF’s annual Leadership Institute and Recruitment Fair, as well as a multiday pitch competition, which will bolster the innovation and entrepreneurial spirit of 20 HBCU students per year.

Additionally, Molson Coors will continue to sponsor scholars through TMCF’s scholarship program and provide hands-on work experience and employment opportunities through its talent sourcing program, ensuring students of color have access to higher education and career development.

“We have made a commitment to our employees to provide a more inclusive and diverse working environment, and a commitment to our communities to provide support for organizations working for a more just and inclusive world,” said Dave Osswald, Molson Coors chief people and diversity officer.

“While our partnership goes back decades, today’s announcement not only represents an exciting new chapter of our partnership with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, but also provides additional opportunities for students of color which will ultimately lead to a more diverse workforce, both at our company and beyond.”

Schlafly Beer Marks 30th Anniversary

Schlafly Beer, the original, independent craft brewery in St. Louis, released its new 30th anniversary sampler, Reelin’ in the Beers. The mixed 12-Pack has a line-up of fan favorite brews that represent the past, present and future of the acclaimed craft brewery: Pale Ale, the original Schlafly flagship beer; Kölsch, Schlafly’s World Beer Cup Gold Medal Beer; Just A Bit Hazy IPA, the brewery’s newest rising star–a year-round style that always sways hazy; and Low Cal IPA, a beer in a growing category of low ABV and low calorie.

The pack also showcases Schlafly’s continuous focus on branding with two new can designs for both Kölsch and Low Cal IPA. The pack is the first opportunity to see the new design for the two styles. The 30th anniversary sampler pack is now available across the Schlafly distribution.

“We’re celebrating 30 years of brewing great beer in St. Louis, and the Reelin’ in the Beers mixed 12-pack represents our legacy and our future,” says CEO Fran Caradonna. “We get to appreciate our history while also looking forward to the incredible things to come in the future with this variety pack. Plus, this is a great way to welcome the can sampler back to our portfolio this year!”

Hornitos Donates $135,000 to Support LGTBQ Voices

The funds will help GLAAD, the world’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) media advocacy organization, to accelerate LGBTQ acceptance, as well as provide grants to two LGBTQ community activists to advance each individual’s advocacy work.

“Hornitos Tequila aligns with partners that break tradition and challenge the status quo,” said Rashidi Hodari, Managing Director of Tequila at Beam Suntory. “We are honored to support and bolster GLAAD’s mission, while encouraging others to take chances and make change in their communities.”

The established partnership with GLAAD is a testament to Hornitos’ “A Shot Worth Taking” brand belief to provide inspiration and create opportunities that propel fans to “take shots” of their own no matter how big or small. In 2021, Hornitos Tequila acted as the official tequila partner of NewFest, New York’s largest presenter of LGBTQ+ film and media, and the largest convener of LGBTQ+ audiences in the city. In partnership with NewFest, Hornitos supported NewFest Pride and NewFest’s New York LGBTQ+ Film Festival, presenting the inaugural “#TakeYourShot Award” to first-time filmmaker, Lyle Kash.
