Packaged Imports Grow +24% By Value in 12 Months Through March 2022

That’s according to bw166, which said total bev/al imports topped $24 million in the 12 months ended March 31. In terms of value in the last three months, through March 31, imports were up 18%. d Some 37% of all imported bev/al by value came from Mexico.

Total bev/al exports, both bulk and packaged, jumped 26% by value over the last 12 months and 36% by value over the last three months.  Some 28% of all exported bev/al went to Canada over the last 12 months.

Imported packaged spirits for the last twelve months grew 16% by volume and grew 28% by value. Over the last three months, volumes grew +16% and grew +33% by value, bw166 said. Imported bulk spirits for the last twelve months declined 8% by volume and 12% by value. Over the last three months, volumes grew +12% and grew +29% by value. Some 38% of all imported packaged spirits by value arrived from Mexico while 33% of all imported bulk spirits by value arrived from Mexico.

Imported packaged wine for the last twelve months grew 11% by volume and 30% by value. Over the last three months, volumes declined 10% and grew 8% by value. Imported bulk wine for the last twelve months grew 16% by volume and grew 6% by value. Over the last three months, volumes grew 3% and declined -26% by value.

Some 34% of all imported packaged wine by value arrived from France while 25% of all imported bulk wine by value arrived from Chile.

Exported packaged wine for the last twelve months grew 18% by volume and 24% by value. Over the last three months, volumes grew 5% and grew 20% by value.

Exported bulk wine for the last twelve months declined 23% by volume and 24% by value. Over the last three months, volumes declined 10% and2% by value.

About 39% of all exported packaged wine by value is destined for Canada while 57 of all exported bulk wine by value is destined for United Kingdom.
