Opici Wines to Import El Coto de Rioja Wines

Opici Wines said it was named exclusive national importer of El Coto de Rioja.

El Coto de Rioja was founded in 1970 by a group of winemakers committed to creating a new type of Rioja. With its widely admired red, white and rose expressions, El Coto is the leading Rioja and top-selling Spanish wine in Europe. El Coto boasts 2,000 acres of estate vineyards—the largest owner of vineyards in Rioja– located in three subzones of Rioja: Rioja Alta, Rioja Baja and Rioja Alavesa.

Opici Managing Director Don Opici said. “We have long observed this leader in the Rioja category and are very proud they have chosen to become part of our group.”

Opici Wines portfolio consists of 50 brands from around the globe and is available nationally through distributor partners. Founded in 1913 by Joseph Opici and his wife Esther, and re-established in 1934 upon the repeal of Prohibition.
