Oklahoma Panel Approves TIPS Server and Seller Training Programs

Health Communications, Inc. (HCI), Arlington, Va., said its Training for Intervention ProcedureS (TIPS) Classroom and eTIPS Online alcohol training and certification programs were approved by the Oklahoma ABLE Commission.

In November 2016, Oklahomans overwhelmingly approved State Question 792, which requires the successful completion of alcohol training as a prerequisite to the issuance of an employee license. In Oklahoma, employees involved in the sale or service of alcoholic beverages must have an employee license.

TIPS is a skills-based training program designed to prevent intoxication, underage drinking, and drunk driving. Over the past 35 years, TIPS has certified more than 5 million participants.
