Ohio Distillery Revives Hayner Whiskey with Postmark Closure

Hayner Distilling, Troy, Ohio, said it will release the first bottles of Hayner Bourbon in more than 100 years on June 4.

The original distillery, launched 155 years ago by Lewis Hayner, grew into one of the largest distilleries in Ohio — and the largest mail order whiskey business in America.  To honor that mail order heritage, 500 bottles will bear a “postmark” of June 4, 2021, on the strip sealing the bottle.

The actual bourbon itself was produced at Bardstown Bourbon Co.  It’s 80 proof, 13-year-old Kentucky bourbon.
