Number of Taps Pouring Continues to Rise

Fifty-seven percent of all taps tracked by BeerBoard were pouring last weekend, up 9.6% from 52% two weeks earlier.  Craft held 65.8% of those taps tracked by BeerBoard, the biggest share BeerBoard has seen since it began tracking on-premise recovery while Domestics held just 20.5%.

The biggest increases were in Nevada (+32.7%), Minnesota (+17%), Illinois (+14.9%), Florida (+13.2%) and Tennessee (_17%).

Ninety-one percent of locations tracked by BeerBoard were open last weekend, up from 89% two weeks earlier.

Despite more taps being open, things aren’t back to normal: the average number of taps open per location is down 46.7%.

Volume was up 14% last weekend.  Once again, not all is as it appears — volume nationally is down 37% from the like year-earlier weekend.

Craft’s share rose to 35.7%, with domestics leading, with domestics at 54.2% vs. 10.1% for imports.

The top five styles last weekend, BeerBoard says, were light lager, lagers, IPA, Belgian Wit/White Ale and Wheat/Hefewezan.
