Cheryl Glenn, a long-time member of the Maryland House of Delegates from Baltimore, has been charged with bribery and wire fraud for backing legislation related to cannabis, opioids and alcohol.
She’s accused of accepting $20,000 to sponsor legislation creating a Class B alcohol and liquor license in her Baltimore legislative district, and $33,750 for voting in favor of a bill to increase the number of medical marijuana grower and processor licenses.
She resigned her seat for “personal reasons” Dec. 18, and is scheduled to self-surrender and be arraigned Jan. 22.
She is the third former state legislator to face corruption charges from the U.S. Attorney’s office since October.
