The Veuve Clicquot bottling is currently 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay.
The 2008 cuvée will be 92 percent Pinot Noir and just 8 percent Chardonnay and will mark the new direction moving forward for both the La Grande Dame Brut ($160) and the La Grande Dame Brut Rosé ($300).
“Pinot Noir dominates in all of our blends already,” says winemaker Dominque Demarville. “Why not take it to the highest level?”
