Indiana Beverage, MillerCoors Aid St. Jude Children’s Hospital

Patrons at three Indiana grocery chains — Strack & Van Til, Ultra Foods and Town & Country Market – can make donations of $1 or more a checkout to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Those who donate will receive a spring-themed paper pin-up featuring a St. Jude patient.

St. Jude has helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate to more than 80% from 20% when the hospital opened more than 50 years ago. By sponsoring a pin-up, shoppers are doing more than giving money, they are helping to save lives.

Customers can participate at any of the stores in Indiana from April 17-30.

Indiana Beverage and MillerCoors have been partnering with retail partners to raise millions of dollars for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital since 1979.  About 7,800 active patients are seen at St. Jude yearly, most of whom are treated on a continuing outpatient basis as part of ongoing research programs.

As one example of success, children treated at St. Jude for acute lymphoblastic leukemia, have a 94% survival rate, the best outcome worldwide for that disease, said Judy Leetz, Indiana Beverage vp.

One hundred percent of the donations raised during this campaign go directly to the hospital, which is where doctors often send their toughest cases because St. Jude has the world’s best survival rates for some of the most aggressive forms of cancers. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.

“Over the past five decades, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has worked tirelessly to enhance the lives of children battling cancer. This outstanding organization genuinely helps families fight to save the lives of their children without being held back due to financial constraints. We are thankful for their passion to serve our communities and welcome the opportunity to aid such a worthy cause,” said Ashleigh Marlow, public relations for Strack & Van Til.
