Goose Island Dumps Barleywine Reserve Over Taste

Goose Island Brewing cancelled plans to release Bourbon County Barleywine Ale saying “it doesn’t taste like what we wanted it to.”

It’s the second time the Anheuser-Busch InBev unit has had quality control issues.  In 2015 the brewery recalled four different Bourbon County beers with infection issues from lactobacillus acetotolerans, which had not been detected before release.
