Gold Moon Distillery Says Trump’s Tariffs Led to Order Cancellations

Steven Gould, owner of the Golden, Colo., craft distillery says 15% — about $150,000 — of his revenue last year was from Europe.  He expected to see that grow to more than $250,000 this year.

But that’s not what’s likely to happen, he told CBS Denver.  Gould says in the wake of President Trump’s tariffs, he’s had orders and contracts canceled, and what he is exporting is low-margin products.

As for Mexico, after a year of negotiations, Gould says the Mexican importer said: “We’ve decided to source gin and other premium spirits from Europe.  We’re no longer interested in doing business with American companies.”
