Gallo Alleges in Lawsuit Amourvino Winery Didn’t Pay for Grapes

The breach of contract suit was find in Napa County Superior Court and alleges Amourvino Winery failed to pay almost $80,000 for 5-1/2 tons of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes harvested from Gallo’s Stagecoach Vineyards.

Amourvino is Chinese owned private winery sourcing California wines to mainland China, according to Jiani Wu, who was helping the winery develop a band identity.

According to the Napa Valley Register, which broke the story, Gallo intends to place a “producer’s lien” on the grapes it delivered to Amourvino.  If Gallo succeeds, Amourvino must use any profits made by selling the wine to pay its debt to Gallo.
