Fred Furth, Founded Chalk Hill Winery, Dies at 84

He was a nationally prominent antitrust lawyer when he moved to Sonoma County following his 1972 purchase of 242 acres of land off Chalk Hill Road east of Windsor, Calif.   He expanded it to more than 1,200 acres.  He sold the winery in June 2009, a year after he divorced, to William Foley.  He died of a fall at his Palm Beach home.
