Fabrizia Spirits, the Salem, N.H., limoncello producer, is launching a canned version of Fabrizia’s Italian Margarita on March 30.
The premium, hand-crafted Italian Margarita, which is based on a family recipe, is made with Fabrizia Limoncello, freshly squeezed lemonade made with Sicilian lemons, and a premium tequila.
Produced without added colors, flavors, or preservatives, the canned Fabrizia’s Italian Margarita, which is sold in six-packs and is 7% ABV, is the only all-natural Margarita available in retail locations in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Virginia.

By 2014, Salem, NH-based Fabrizia Spirits was discarding more than 140,000 zested lemons each year as a byproduct of the limoncello-making process. Phil Mastroianni and his brother and co-owner Nick were looking for a way to use the byproducts of their key ingredient.
Meanwhile, Phil and Nick’s sister, Jenna, had crafted a cocktail called “Jenna-Rita’s” made with Fabrizia Limoncello, homemade lemonade, and tequila, which the Mastroianni family and friends had enjoyed for a few years, especially during summer months.
“A light bulb went off in my head. We could use the juice from the zested lemons that we were just disposing of anyway to make a ready-to-drink Italian Margarita,” Phil Mastroianni said.
Fabrizia Spirits introduced a bottled version of Fabrizia’s Italian Margarita in 2014 that was extremely well-received. Responding to market trends, the company launched a pilot program for the canned version about a year ago – introducing six-pack cans to select retail locations in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. The result was a resounding success as the majority of the 23,000 cans Fabrizia produced sold out on the retail market in less than three weeks.
Fabrizia Spirits opened in 2008 and has experienced steady growth with products now available in 16 states. In addition to its signature, all-natural Limoncello and canned Fabrizia’s Italian Margarita, Fabrizia Spirits also offers a Blood Orange liqueur, a limoncello cream liqueur called Crema, and the bottled version of Fabrizia’s Italian Margarita.
