Diageo ‘Pauses’ Social Media Advertising

Diageo joined 180 other companies that have signed on to the Stop Hate for Profit campaign, announcing that it will “pause” ad spending on “major social media platforms.”  In a tweet, Diageo said it “strive to promote inclusion and diversity, including through our marketing campaigns” and added it will “continue to discuss with media partners how they will deal with unacceptable content.”

Other companies pausing ads on Facebook, Instagram and other platforms include Coca-Cola, Hershey’s, Levi’s, PepsiCo and Unilver.
