Alcohol & Tobacco Tax & Trade Bureau accepted a $420,000 offer in compromise from Crown Imports LLC, to settle charges it paid retailers to secure tap handle placements.
The payments, TTB said, were made through a third party promotional company. The result, TTB said, was that the retailer, or someone associated with the retailer, “received payment for advertising, display and distribution services related to Crown’s brands of malt beverages.”
TTB in recent months has been increasingly aggressive in trying to insure that trade practice violations don’t occur.
