Covid-19 Costs EU Wineries 30% Drop in Volume, 50% in Value

Many European wineries depend upon exports.  But thanks to the coronavirus, hotels, restaurants and café are closed and that means wineries are seeing bottles.

One member of the European Parliament estimates that Europe may have about 1 billion liters of wine that will never be sold. That raises the specter of that wine being turned into vinegar or hand sanitizer.  Naturally, European wineries are seeking relief from their governments and the European Union.
