It’s located in Yuba County where some businesses – but not bars, tasting rooms or wineries – are being allowed to open.
“The risk of not opening is definitely greater than opening,” says Kelly Grow, co-owner of Meade Hill Winery, which has 725 gallons of wine in temporary flex tanks and needs to generate money to bottle the wine soon or they will lose what they’ve already invested. “Operations don’t stop just because the state say you can’t open,” she adds.
It’s a truly small winery. “We do it all ourselves,” she says, adding: “We’re out here in August harvesting and it’s hot.”
