Slane’s Triple Casked maturation process uses virgin oak, seasoned oak and sherry casks to produce a flavor being described as “bold yet smooth, with unique complexity and a more robust flavor than traditional Irish whiskeys.
Slane Irish Whiskey (40% ABV), which launched in Ireland in April, will roll out in New York early this summer, followed by limited markets in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, Pacific Northwest and the West Coast. Slane Irish Whiskey is currently available as a pre-order offering online in select markets through ReserveBar.com. Key UK markets are launching in May, with targeted markets in Australia rolling out in July.
Slane Irish Whiskey’s striking black bottle represents emerging Ireland, a progressive, dynamic and inclusive country. Black suggests change, something new, much like Slane’s take on its whiskey’s flavor profile. The bottle’s shape evokes the symmetry of Slane Castle and the embossed image of a distinctive hay fork comes from the family motto, “Over Fork Over.”
“Slane Irish Whiskey is a new way of approaching our country’s national spirit and we are delighted to bring it to the American market,” says Alex Conyngham, Co-Founder of Slane Irish Whiskey. “Our Triple Casked maturation process enhances the quality and complexity of the whiskey. We aim to create a lasting legacy for Brown-Forman and the Conyngham family and a worthy addition to the fast-growing Irish whiskey category.”
“We are proud to launch Slane Irish Whiskey in the U.S. market,” says John Hayes, Chief Marketing Officer of Brown-Forman Brands. “Working with the Conyngham family and leveraging 147 years of our whiskey making and barrel making expertise, we have created a spirit that we believe sets a new benchmark for Irish whiskey, both in flavor and quality.”
