Budweiser Zero is “brewed with premium Budweiser barley, hop and malt”, and has no alcohol, and just 46 calories per 330ml can. The alcohol-Free Stella Artois has 60 calories per 330 ml bottle. It’s available in the usual channels in Europe; we asked ABI if it was available in the U.S. but haven’t had a reply. We’ll let you know when we hear.
Comment: Regardless, we think it’s a smart move. There are plenty of Americans – at least one-third – who don’t consume alcohol. There is no reason for any bev/al firm to leave that cash on the table for Coca-Cola Co. or PepsiCo.
