Carlos Brito, who has led Anheuser-Busch InBev through a series of acquisitions in the last 16 years as CEO is planning to step down, and the company is searching for a new CEO who is expected to focus more on internal operations.
The only internal candidate is said to be Michel Doukeris. Several outside candidates are being considered, according to a report in the Financial Times but Doukeris, who heads the North American operation, is reported to be the leading candidate.
Brito plans to join ABI’s board next year after retiring. Spencer Stuart, the recruitment firm, is involved in the search.
