A door near the bottom of a blending tank popped open, releasing all the cabernet sauvignon into a sanitary sewer system on the Rodney Strong Vineyards property in Healdsburg, Calif. After flowing into a drainage ditch the wine made its way into a creek and eventually into the Russian River. The impact on the river wasn’t immediately known.
