Yesterday’s Wall Street Journal had an item that the coronavirus was “devastating” the conference circuit.
“World-wide, major conferences and trade shows are getting canceled or postponed at historic rates as the novel coronavirus leads companies to curtail nonessential trips and virus-hit countries restrict travel, leaving organizers with little choice but to call off international gatherings planned for months,” the Journal reported.
We wondered if Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America was planning to cancel its annual meeting and trade show, scheduled for April 20-23 in Las Vegas. WSWA responded with this statement:
“WSWA is closely following the evolving situation around COVID-19, and at this time, we have no plans to postpone or cancel the WSWA 77th Annual Convention & Exposition in Las Vegas. We will continue to monitor the state of affairs and follow the lead of federal government agencies such as the Center for Disease Control (CDC), as well as guidelines set by the U.S. Travel Association. The health and well-being of our exhibitors, attendees, and event staff is always our highest priority.”
