The Brits are at it again: Chain retailers have dropped the price of Champagne so much that a 750 ml bottle is cheaper, on a 100ml basis, than mouthwash.
At Tesco, Louis Delaunay Brut is retailing for £1.60 per 100 ml, while 100ml of Corsodyl Mint, a popular mouthwash, is retailing for £1.67 at Morrisons. At Aldi, Veuve Monsigny Champagne Brut is priced at £1.32 vs. £1.40 for 100ml of Listerine Advanced.
Other retailers have dropped their prices to compete, The Sun reported.
