A Foolish Take: Is Beer Getting Less Popular?

That’s the question asked today by Motley Fool, which notes that Diageo-owned Guinness has fallen in four of the last five years.

We think it’s foolish to focus on sales of just one brand to determine whether beer is less popular.  “Beer won’t disappear overnight, but its past dominance of the local tavern might slowly give way to a broader menu of adult beverages in the years to come,” Motley Fool says.

We’d say that’a foolish analysis.  Beer will never disappear.  There will be decades where it’s on top and spirits or wine are sinking.  But disappear forever?  Never.
