Voters are receptive to President Trump’s proposal to kill the federal “death tax” and to eliminate most income tax deductions in exchange for a higher initial standard deduction.
Forty-six percent (46%) of Likely U.S. Voters favor the elimination of the so-called “death tax” on the property of those who die. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 32% oppose eliminating the death tax, while a sizable 22% are undecided.
At the same time, another Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 48% of Likely U.S. Voters believe tax cuts help the economy. Thirty percent (30%) say tax cuts hurt the economy instead, while 10% feel they have no economic impact. Twelve percent (12%) are not sure.
