The Virginia Legislature passed and semt tov. Ralph Northam a bill to allow cocktails to-go from distilleries, restaurants and bars until July 1, 2022. The bill is an effort to support Virginia’s hospitality businesses struggling to cope with the harsh economic impacts of COVID-19.
“Cocktails to-go have provided much-needed revenue for Virginia’s hospitality businesses and helped many of them survive during the pandemic,” said David Wojnar, SVP and Head of State Public Policy, Distilled Spirits Council of the U.S.
“Unfortunately, Virginia’s distilleries, restaurants and bars have a long way to go before things are completely back to normal. Extending cocktails to-go provides additional stability for businesses and added convenience for consumers. We urge Governor Northam to sign this bill as soon as possible and extend cocktails to go through July 2022,” Wojnar said.
