Utah’s legislators didn’t budge on the new drunk driving law, passed in 2017, widely considered to be the toughest in the nation. It goes into effect, and in Utah the DWI rate will be 0.05%, not 0.08% that’s standard elsewhere.
And they didn’t budge on eliminating the state’s “dining clubs.” The dining club allows adults to drink bev/al without also having to order food. Minors are allowed in dining clubs when accompanied by adults.
Now dining club operators will have to choose to be either a restaurant or a bar.
