A tip of the hat to Alcohol & Tobacco Tax & Trade Bureau for launching the AVA Map Explorer. It’s a map of the U.S. with every AVA located on the map. Click on the dot one can learn the name, state, counties, the date it was established. There also are links to both the Code of Federal Regulations and the Public Docket.
Want to see what AVAs are within a particular location? Just enter an address and see the results. GIS users can download shape files of an AVA to make your own personalized map!
The AVA Map Explorer also allows you to see, for the first time, the boundaries of proposed AVAs during the public comment period.
It’s a clever and useful tool.
