It’s nice to be able to write that, 10 years after we warned of the collapse that became known as the Great Recession.
Three indicators:
- The Wall Street Journal this morning reported workers are quitting their jobs, quickly finding something better.
- Nonfarm employment increased by 177,000 jobs.Despite all the talk about small business being the jobs growth engine, it was medium sized businesses (50-499 employees) with the greatest growth, according to the ADP National Employment Report.
- The Institute for Supply Management reported economic activity in the non-manufacturing sector grew in June for the 101st consecutive month. The Non-Manufacturing Business Activity Index increased in June to 63.9%, 2.6 percentage points higher than in May.
All of this is good news for bev/al marketers. When people have more money, and feel secure with regard to employment, they are more likely to buy an alcoholic beverage and to move upward in their choices.
